Unlock the Power of Prevention Education and Wellness with Playbl Games
Ready to empower youth with engaging evidence-based prevention education?
Federal and state grantees in communities nationwide are actively seeking innovative, evidence-based, and impactful methods to engage youth in substance use prevention, mental health, and sexual health promotion. Playbl, founded on 15 years of Yale's play2PREVENT Lab research, and funded by NICHD/NIH, NIDA/NIH, the FDA, and CVS Health Foundation, creates and evaluates highly accessible evidence-based digital health games.
Our games cover a wide range of vital topics for youth (ages 10-20) health and well-being:
- PlaySmart: Opioid misuse prevention and mental health promotion
- PlayTest!: Encouraging STI/HIV testing, health promotion, and advocacy
- smokeSCREEN: Smoking/vaping prevention and cessation
- PlayForward: Overall risk reduction and HIV prevention
- empowerEd – “Think it Through” Digital Stories: Skills development to reframe negative thoughts and improve the school environment
Each game is firmly grounded in evidence-based learning methods and established theoretical constructs, ensuring that youth not only acquire critical information, but cultivate the skills needed for meaningful behavior change – A perfect addition to your prevention toolkit.
How Playbl supports your initiatives
Playbl games are designed for youth substance use prevention, mental health, and sexual health promotion, aligning with the efforts of many federal and state grantees, including:
- CDC Drug-Free Communities Coalitions

- CDC Promoting Adolescent Health through School-Based HIV Prevention Grantees
- OJJDP Grantees Building Local Continuums of Care to Support Youth Success
