The Blavatnik Fund for Innovation at Yale Awards Over $3 Million in Accelerator Funding to Develop 12 New Therapeutic and Digital Health Products
Playbl received one of 12 awards from the Blavatnik Fund for Innovation at Yale and will use this funding to develop a data analytics dashboard connected to its games’ backend systems as well as pilot studies with educators and other key customer groups. More >

A Yale doctor is using a video game to fight the opioid crisis
As drug-related deaths have spiked across the United States in recent years, doctors seeking to curb that surge are getting an unlikely new tool: a videogame. The game, titled “PlaySmart,” was developed by Playbl’s founder Lynn Fiellin and her Yale team and funded by the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Drug Abuse’s Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) Initiative. PlaySmart focuses both on mental health promotion and substance misuse prevention with a specific focus on opioid misuse. More >
